Russian Military Air Base in Hmemim, Syria Under Drone Attacks

The Russian military airbase in Hmeimim came under attack by drones late last night, a spokesperson for the Russian Army in Syria revealed.

Two drones flown by the Turkey-sponsored Al Qaeda terrorists were approaching the base from the northeast and were shot down around 2 kilometers from the base by the base's air defense systems.

The spokesperson confirmed the base was not harmed and remains, as always, on high alert for the constant attempts by Turkey (NATO) backed terrorists in Syria to attack it and attack other Russian formations in the country.

Hmeimim military airbase was built by Russia in the year 2015 under a lease agreement with the Syrian state to help in the war against the US-sponsored Al Qaeda and ISIS (ISIL) and their affiliated terrorists and to thwart crazy ideas by NATO member states to invade the country.

The attacks by the terrorists against Russian formations in Syria always come from areas under the control of the Turkish army or with direct contact with Turkish supply routes, this attack could be a message from the Turkish madman Erdogan after his failure in the Tehran summit a day earlier in getting Syria's main allies Russia and Iran to approve his invasion operation into northern Syria.
