The Syrian National Seismic Center recorded an earthquake of 4.1 magnitude on the Richter Scale about 50 kilometers to the northeast of the Syrian capital Damascus at 1:45 pm this afternoon.

Shortly after midnight the day before an earthquake of 4.3 hit the same site, as per the Seismic center.

This comes 3 months after two earthquakes, one struck west of Hama, Central Syria and was of 3.1 degrees on the Richter scale, and another of also 3.1 degrees on the scale to the northwest of Latakia, in the eastern Mediterranean on the Syrian coast.

'Syria has entered the earthquake era', this was a warning of Syria's top geologist back in November 2000, and it's not alone, a 3-4 thousand kilometers long fault is moving.

Details in this report: 4th Minor Earthquake Strikes in Syria in 3 Months, the 2nd in One Day.
