First Lady Asmaa Assad Celebrates al-Biruni Cancer Treatment Hospital Expansion

Syria’s First Lady Asmaa Assad attended the celebrations for expanding the capacity of the al-Biruni University Hospital in Harasta, near Damascus. 

The hospital was the largest specialized hospital for treating cancer in the country until 2013 when it became a constant target of US-sponsored al-Qaeda FSA ‘moderate rebels’.

The expansion was sponsored by Basma Charity: Children with Cancer Support Association, working on ways to help the state fund and equip centers for the treatment of children with cancer since is Syria is under draconian US and EU collaborative sanctions to squeeze the last drop of blood of its proud people... First Lady Asma Al-Assad Visits Pediatric Cancer Center on Eid Al-Adha

Syria's First Lady Asma'a Al-Assad visits pediatric cancer center on the first day of Eid l-Adha.

Syria’s First Lady Mrs. Asma Al-Assad visited children in the cancer ward of Beroni Hospital, on this first day of blessed Eid Al-Adha.  The First Lady visited the children with members of the Basma Association, the Syrian-based organization which helps provide physiological, medical, and financial support to these children and their parents. This work is especially important during this ongoing period of illicit sanctions against the Syrian Arab Republic.
